ANGELS
A Series inspired by the Angels of SafeHouse Center, Ann Arbor, MI
Angels is a series that Matthew is currently working on. The series focuses on the Guardian Angels, Saints, and Spirit Guides that help protect us, save us, nurture us, and point us in the right direction on our path in the beautiful journey of life in our mysterious universe. Life can be a tragic, devastating ugly Telemachus fight filled with adversity and it can beat you down, encapture and engulf you in burning flames. Yet there is always Angels, Saints, and Spirit Guides working through God's Divine Intervention to protect us, and show us the beauty in life if we listen to them and let work their magical miracles through Divine Grace. Through the Angels collection, Matthew uses art to give thanks to these Divine Beings who intervene on our behalf while we search for the answers to questions like what is our purpose in life, why horrible terrible things happen to really good people, what lessons we are to learn for our tragedies and failures, and how we reach Divinity and overcome adversity when the answers to these questions maybe simple...Only God Knows...We just have to be open to receiving what Only God Knows is in the Divine Plan for Us.

ANGEL SAVES
Inspired by a counselor/advocate whose name is very fitting because she is an Angel that nurtures, and teaches others to protect and save themselves.

ST. JOYCE
(Domestic Violence Awareness Month Project, October 2019, Latex, Acrylic, Purple Swarovski Crystal, Spiritual Candle Wax, Wedding Sand, Crushed Glass, Grounding Seashells, Blue Kyanite, Bismuth, Clear Rhinestone, Glaze on canvas)
This Domestic Violence Awareness Month art piece is dedicated to:Â
My Uncle Gino (My 911 and guiding light even now in Spirit.), Mrs. Joyce LaLonde (My 3rd grade teacher. You believed us and set up safe hiding places for me in school so that I would not be hurt and abducted.), Mrs. Diane Dunlap (My 4th grade teacher. You taught me about mindfulness through mediations that focused on the ocean and sea waves crashing along shore, and how to address internal and external conflict through restorative practices.), Joyce Johnson (Blues Singer at The Raven Lounge & Restaurant in Detroit. You inspire me every time I see you sing. You encourage me to write, paint, and to just play the blues harp and not think about it. One day I will jump up on stage and jam with you.), St. Joyce Judoc (You gave me the strength to just let go.), Angels of SafeHouse (You taught me how to love myself for me, and stay true to what is healthy for me.), and to all the wonderful beautiful loving caring people that touch my life to make who I am.
